Heartstrong Farm is operated by Eva Moss + Patrick Green on leased land of a 16-acre historical property in Staley, North Carolina. The two are a couple of young lovestruck beginning farmers who are passionate about stewarding the land, cultivating its goodness, and sharing its bounty with others to strengthen mind, body, and heart.
2017 will be Heartstrong’s first season as a working farm. Eva + Patrick will be offering their vegetables, flowers, and herbs for sale through seasonal community supported agriculture (CSA) subscriptions and farmers markets.
2017 Market Presence: This year you can find us at the Fearrington Farmers Market on Tuesdays from 4-6pm, the Oasis Open Air Market in Siler City on Wednesdays from 10-1pm, and the Chatham Mills Farmers Market on Saturdays from 8 to noon. Come say hello and share in the season’s bounty!

Eva: The principal farmer at Heartstrong Farm. Eva first realized a calling to work in local food systems while WWOOFing on a permaculture teaching farm in Andover, New Hampshire. While working alongside other young farmers and engaging with local residents and businesses on community food projects, she was inspired to support the growing sustainable food movement. She became involved in grassroots advocacy work on behalf of sustainable agriculture and supporting the next generation of farmers with PlanetForward and the Greenhorns, while gardening and farming where ever and when ever she could. After earning a Master’s of Food and Agriculture Law and Policy degree from Vermont Law School and becoming a certified permaculture designer, Eva was inspired to intersect her passion for agriculture, community, and food justice through the creation of Heartstrong Farm with her husband Patrick.
Patrick: Co-owner and operator at Heartstrong, working full-time in the technology field while also helping in all aspects of the farm. Patrick grew up in Middle Tennessee where his family always kept a well-loved home garden full of tomatoes, peppers, and other heat-loving crops that were favorites in family recipes. During the summers, he worked on commodity crop farms and in his family’s tool and die business. Patrick loves the great outdoors and using his hands to grow and build goodness on the farm and beyond. He is passionate about stewarding the land and connecting with others through sharing recipes and cooking together, as well as whipping up mean hot sauces and home-brewing craft beer.
